Autumn morning

Praise

Till I come back

God of All

Autumn morning

The south-west wind is blowing,

 A red fox hurries by;

A lake of silver water

 Reflects a rainbow sky!

The morning sun is shining

 Upon the golden corn;

An early blackbird wakens

 And sings to greet the dawn!

Praise

Praise the Lord for all the seasons,

 Praise him for the gentle spring,

Praise the Lord for glorious summer,

 Birds and beasts and everything.

Praise the Lord Who sends the harvest,

 Praise Him for the winter snows;

Praise the Lord, all ye who love Him,

 Praise Him, for all things He knows.

 Mary Anderson

Autumn is a time of separation for many people, as university and new jobs are undertaken. This is an ancient Celtic prayer sung by pilgrims and their families at the time of parting, a prayer for blessing and for protection in the months ahead.

Till I come back

Life be in my speech,

Sense in what I say,

The bloom of cherries on my lips,

Till I come back again.

The love Christ Jesus gave

Be filling every heart for me,

The love Christ Jesus gave

Filling me for every one.

Traversing corries, traversing forests.

Traversing valleys long and wild -

The fair white Mary still uphold me,

The Shepherd Jesu be my shield,

The fair white Mary still uphold me,

The Shepherd Jesu be my shield.

 From Carmina Gadelica

God of All

Our God is the God of all,

The God of heaven and earth,

Of the sea and of the rivers;

The God of the sun and of the moon and of all the stars;

The God of the lofty mountains

and of the lowly valleys.

He has his dwelling around heaven and earth,

and sea, and all that in them is.

He inspires all,

He gives life to all,

He dominates all,

He supports all.

He lights the light of the sun,

He furnishes the light of the night,

He has made springs in dry land...

He is the God of heaven and earth,

of sea and rivers,

of sun, moon and stars,

of the lofty mountain and the lowly valley,

the God above heaven,

and in heaven,

and under heaven.

 St Patrick
